It was narrated that 'Aishah said
"The Messenger of Allah used to cut off the (thief's) hand for one-quarter of a Dinar or more
أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ دُرُسْتَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْطَعُ الْيَدَ فِي رُبُعِ دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا ‏.‏
