Le Prophète (ﷺ) lui avait donné des moutons à distribuer entre ses compagnons et il restait un chevreau mâle après la distribution. Quand il en informa le Prophète (ﷺ), il lui dit : « Offre-le en sacrifice pour toi. »
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا يَقْسِمُهَا عَلَى صَحَابَتِهِ، فَبَقِيَ عَتُودٌ فَذَكَرَهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ
"ضَحِّ بِهِ أَنْتَ
