‘Abbas bin ‘Abdul Muttalib a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah ﷺ ! As-tu pu faire quelque chose pour Abou Talib, car il te protégeait et prenait soin de toi, et se mettait en colère pour toi ? » Le Prophète ﷺ a répondu : « Oui, il est dans une partie peu profonde du Feu. Sans moi, il serait dans les profondeurs les plus basses du Feu. »
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ، عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ نَفَعْتَ أَبَا طَالِبٍ بِشَىْءٍ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَحُوطُكَ وَيَغْضَبُ لَكَ قَالَ
" نَعَمْ هُوَ فِي ضَحْضَاحٍ مِنْ نَارٍ، لَوْلاَ أَنَا لَكَانَ فِي الدَّرَكِ الأَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ ".
